Man tried using dumbbell to break windows at downtown Lincoln apartment, police say – KLKN

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One man pumped some iron in an attempt to smash windows at a downtown Lincoln apartment Wednesday evening, police say.

Around 9:20 p.m., employees at Blaze Pizza near 13th and Q Streets reported hearing a pounding sound coming from outside.

When employees walked outside, they a 35-year-old man using a dumbbell to try and break into the apartments next door.

He then left the area on his bike, according to police.

About an hour later, officers were sent back to the same area and found him trying to smash the apartment’s windows.

He fled once again, but officers eventually caught up and arrested him near Centennial Mall and Q Street.

The man was charged with two counts of criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Police estimate that the window had around $500 worth of damages.
